Hi Friend!
Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. Which would surprise most people who asked me as a young kid and expected to hear me say Christmas. I just loved when we would all come to gather around the table, extended family included. The table leaf would get brought up from the basement, and extra chairs were placed around the table, as we all would squeeze in to fit. I remember as a kid looking at the beautifully place settings, showing each of us we had a seat at the table, and somehow those everyday plates just looked a little fancier with the silverware placed next to it. Everything about the table said “you belong”, “I prepared this seat for you”, and even though I couldn’t put words to it back then, I still remember to this day how it made me feel. I think that’s why I love creating thanksgiving tablescapes so much today!
I can’t wait for you to see this years Thanksgiving Tablescape!
Today I’m joining some amazing blogger who are also sharing their Thanksgiving tables, so be sure to scroll to the bottom of todays post for even 14 more beautiful tables ready for Thanksgiving.
When I started thinking about what I wanted to incorporate on this years thanksgiving table, there was one thing that came to mind – Pumpkins! I love decorating with pumpkins in the fall, and I couldn’t wait to add them to my table.
I added in dark green candle tapers to coordinate with the buttercup squash I used in my centerpiece. I love the soft glow and ambiance that candlelight adds, but it’s also a great way to visually add some height to your centerpiece.
I filled the center of my table with an assortment of different pumpkins, squash, and gourds, in different shapes and sizes. I started by placing my largest pumpkin in the middle on top of wooden cutting boards for a little added height. I put down my medium sized pumpkins and squash next, closest to my large pumpkin in the middle, and then filled in with smaller white pumpkins, and baby butternut squash – working my way out from the center.
I wanted the overall feel of this tablescape to feel relaxed. I achieved that by adding in lots of layers. I used a flat white linen sheet as my base layer, then folded a beige linen tablecloth in half and placed it down the center of my table in lieu of a table runner.
I carried the relaxed feeling into each place setting by tying white linen napkins in a simple knot, and opted to not use napkin rings to keep things feeling more casual.

This is so pretty, Bre! I love the casual, yet elegant feel. The pumpkins and gourds are perfect for a Thanksgiving table setting. And I love the green tapers paired with the brass candlesticks and those beautiful brown transferware bowls.

I love your simply elegant table settings. Your style is relaxing, in a “sit anywhere you’d like” way.
I bought your book, and have followed you for awhile. You stay true to yourself, and don’t follow the masses with what’s new. You do you, and I love that you do. I keep the book in our guest room, and EVERYONE who stays in there comments on what a great book it is. No pressure, use what you have, style simply…..
Stay true to yourself.♥️
