Hi Friends!!
At the start of each year, I take time to write down goals that feel meaningful for the season ahead. Not as a checklist to perfect, but as a guide to help me live with intention. These goals quietly shape my days, influence my priorities, and remind me of what I want to be mindful of as the year unfolds. If you read my previous post about the power of writing things down, this post is a continuation of that conversation. Today, I’m sharing my personal goals for 2026, not because I have it all figured out, but because writing them down (and sharing them) helps keep my heart and focus aligned.

Why I’m Sharing My Personal Goals This Year
For a long time, my personal goals stayed mostly private while this space focused on home and design. But encouragement has always been at the heart of why I started blogging in the first place. As seasons change, so do priorities — and this year, I feel called to share more of the personal intentions that guide how I show up, both here and in everyday life.

Rather than a long list of resolutions, I’ve chosen a handful of goals that feel aligned with where I am right now. These are goals I want to return to throughout the year — especially when life feels busy or distracting.
#1. Share More Encouraging Posts With Readers
One of my biggest goals for 2026 is to share more encouraging, lifestyle-driven posts alongside the design content you know and love. Creating a home you love will always be part of this space, but I also want to intentionally create room for words that uplift, encourage, and remind women they’re not alone in the process of growth.
This goal is about showing up more consistently and pressing “publish” even when I don’t feel qualified or good enough.

#2. Be More Intentional With Friendships
As life gets fuller, friendships can sometimes take a back seat — not because they matter less, but because time feels limited. This year, I want to be more intentional about nurturing relationships, making time for meaningful conversations, and showing up for the people God has placed in my life.
Whether that looks like a coffee date, a phone call, or simply checking in more often, this goal is about presence and connection.
#3. Read One Book Each Month
This goal has been a constant on my list every year since 2019. It’s a simple, realistic goal: to read one book a month, throughout the entire year. I love books on personal growth, faith-filled, and ones that inspire me to be a better person and equip me with the tools to do so. I have a growing list of books that have done this for me over the last 7 years, and I’m looking forward to the ones I will add to it this year.
This goal isn’t about rushing through pages, but about creating space to learn, grow, and slow down — whether that’s through faith-based books, personal growth, or stories that inspire creativity.
Would you be interested in me sharing which books I’ve read in the past and truly love? Tell me in the comments below ~

#4. Create More Flower Arrangements
Creativity fuels me, and working with flowers has always been a source of joy. This year, I want to intentionally create more flower arrangements — not necessarily for an end goal, but for the process itself. I’ve heard of people who want to become better with their art challenge themselves to paint every day or once a week. So I’m looking at this goal through that lens.
Making space for creativity, even when it’s just for fun, is something I want to do more of in this season. This goal is about doing more of what brings beauty and inspiration into everyday life.

#5. Be Intentional With Long-Term Health Goals
Rather than focusing on quick fixes, I want to continue in 2026 to be about long-term health. Caring for my body in a sustainable, grace-filled way. That means being mindful of habits, consistency, and making choices that support overall well-being. You might remember in past years this included incorporating walking outside. I’m happy to report that it has become a regular rhythm in my life, and I’m looking to add more long-term healthy habits like that to my arsenal.
#6. Create a YouTube Short Story Series
This year, I’m also stepping into something new: creating a YouTube short story series. This feels both exciting and a little outside my comfort zone, but it’s a creative project I’ve been thinking about for a while. I’ll be sharing more about this in the coming months, and can’t wait to start working on it!
This goal is about storytelling, creativity, and giving myself permission to try something new — without putting pressure on the outcome.

Holding My 2026 Goals With Open Hands
As I look at these goals, I’m reminded that seasons shift and plans change. I want to hold these intentions with open hands — staying committed, yet flexible, and trusting God with the results.
My hope in sharing this list is not comparison, but encouragement. If you haven’t written down your own goals yet, consider this your gentle nudge. Start where you are, trust God with the process, and take it one faithful step at a time.
Next, I will be sharing my Annual House Goals post for 2026! Stay Tuned!!

I feel very ‘in-tune’ with your goals and would also love to follow along your reading journey! Thank you for sharing so much of yourself and your home. I’m so inspired by you 🙂
I am reading Twice a book by Mitch Albom. Its a delightfull story about things we all think about like cooda shooda wooda. He also wrote Tuesdays with Maury. A true story about afternoons he spent with a friend. I think most of us are familiar with that since it was made into a movie. Anyway, Bre you are the best. Not only do you encourage me to look at my home in a different light but you feed my soul on top of it. I normally don’t make goals for myself, to much pressure but I may try it on a smaller scale. I think anyone who reads your stuff will agree your thee best. Kim XOXO
Theo of Golden by Allen Levi is my new FAVORITE Book. You will laugh and cry and be moved in how you view people. It’s right up there with Gentleman in Moscow in terms of creative writing!
Thank you so much for sharing! I will definitely check him out 🙂
I would definitely love to have a list of books. One a month sounds do-able for me. I just joined Audible, so that would be a perfect time to try new books. I love the genres that you have selected as well. Also love to watch Youtube. I think I must be an audio learner, I even listen to my Bible now to help make more sense of it. Thank you for all you do for us.
You got it Pamela! I love Audible, it’s how I get through 1 book a month! It’s become one of my favorite ways to listen while I’m driving or doing dishes, or folding laundry, or painting a room!
I so enjoy your blog! I would LOVE to know what books you have read and are reading. I would also love to know what flowers you are growing and using in your flower arrangements. Thanks for responding to the Lord’s nudges and stepping out of your comfort zone to share more about you with us. It has been very helpful to me.
Thank you SO much Lisa!! I will absolutely share what some of my favorite books have been, and flowers too!! Your comment was so encouraging to me, and I’m so glad to hear you enjoy my blog 🙂

Hi Bre! I love all your personal goals and find they align with mine as well. Thanks you for sharing. I can’t wait to see your YouTube short stories…yay! One of my favorite authors for a cozy, get immersed in a different world vibe, is Rosemunde Pilcher. I just discovered her last year. All of her books that I’ve read are wonderful but Winter Solstice is the first one I read and I loved it.
