Hello Friends! There’s nothing like spreading a little spring decor around your house to anticipate this upcoming season! I honestly can’t wait for spring, our winters are long here in New England, and spring is always a welcomed sight! I’m teaming up with some blogging friends today to share our spring decorated mantles and vignettes. Come on over and see what I created for this years Spring Vignette
We’re featured in Yankee Magazine
It’s always a delight to see how they choose to feature our home in magazine articles. Which photos they will chose, what details they will highlight. Of course the 2 page spread above is one of my most favorite views in our home. However, I think you’ll agree with me, when I turned the page to see the photo below, I squealed with delight to see a candid shot of me and my daughter made the feature!
Spring Decor Roundup
Spring is on it’s way! We’ve had a few days proving that it’s coming. Even though we new englanders know not to get our hopes up too much, because snow can still happen all the way up until May – yes MAY, with March in a few days, our long winter is winding down. Thankfully any snow we do get at this point is gone within a day or two, but even the kids have a bit of spring fever, and have said they are done with playing in the snow, lol. I’m gearing up to share our home decorated for spring, and while I’m not quite finished, I saw a photo the other day from a spring post I did a few years ago, and totally reminisced. It made me think, I should do a round up of some of my favorite posts from Springs past as we get ready to welcome in this much anticipated season. I always call it my much anticipated season, because after our long winters, it’s the one I look forward to the most. Longer days, warmer weather, and of course all those fantastic buds popping up everywhere! So before I share this years spring decor, here is a little spring decor roundup from some of my favorites in the past.
Master Bathroom Before
Hello Friends! I hope you are doing well! Today I’m sharing all of our “before” photos of our master bathroom with you! Brace yourselves, this is a never before seen room. Ack! And it is a whole lot of blah beige. We are teaming up with our friends over at Wayfair to join in on their One Room Reno Challenge. In case you missed it I shared the design plan for the space HERE. I am so excited to get this project started. Our master bathroom is the LAST room in our house to get my signature touch. Seriously this room has not been touched since we moved in just about 7 years ago! Yikes, but I have a feeling it will be one of our best makeovers yet!
Our Story
I realize it would have been more appropriate to share this post on Valentine’s Day, however the flu hit our house last week, and I’ve been taking care of everyone, so I’m just now getting around to sharing. Thankfully everyone is just about fully recovered, and we are looking forward to a nice low-key weekend to help get ourselves back to 100%. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about where I want to expand in my blog, and as much as I love sharing my passion for home decor, there are definitely other areas that I’m passionate about too. While home decor will still be my main focus, I also want to share things that are more on a personal level with you. Because after all, it’s one thing to have the same taste in decor, but I think we have more in common than just that! I remember in my early blogging days feeling “unprofessional” to share personal things, but in doing so I’ve left out a very important part of blogging that I enjoy – being relational. Sure we have connected on other things, but part of growing in a friendship is learning about each other, and I want to know more about you too! I mean we are friends after all right? So after sharing a little glimpse of how I met my husband in a post this past week on Instagram, I thought I would start off by sharing Our Story!
I Don’t Decorate for Valentine’s Day
There I said it! I don’t decorate for Valentine’s Day. If you’ve been around the blog for a little while, you may remember me talking about decorating “Seasonally” and not so much for each holiday. I’ve seen other bloggers who decorate for every holiday, and think they do a great job. The more power to them! But I just don’t have it in me. So instead of showing you any Valentine’s Day decor, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite BLUSH colored home decor accessories.
Add Life to your Space with Faux Greens
I’ll be the first to admit, I’m scared of houseplants. There I said it! They’ve always kind of seemed out of reach for me. Like a conversation that has been off the table. However, one thing I have learned in creating inviting spaces is there needs to be Life! It’s amazing how much life that little pop of green can add, it’s like you know something is missing, but you can’t quite put your finger on it, and then BAM! It hits you the moment you bring some life into a space. I’ve learned though over the years ….
18 Living Rooms that don’t have a White Couch
Hello friends!! Happy Monday, I hope you had a wonderful weekend! There is something so refreshing about the weekend, we love to curl up and just relax and refresh on the weekends. Our weeks are so busy, that we’ve found it absolutely necessary to take time to allow proper rest on the weekends, and time spent with the family so that we can return to Monday and be ready to tackle the week ahead. Our #1 space to relax in is our living room, and I hinted in a previous post that I am getting ready to switch a few things out.
