Eek! Spring has Sprung! Well at least inside our home it has. I should have known better living in New England, and having temps in the 70's in February that is wouldn't last, but at least it was nice while it was here, and I while I was taking these photos. Nope, today we are in for another nor'easter. If you aren't from New England it's when a really bad snow storm, and a really bad storm at sea collide, or in other words a heck of a lot of snow. Close to 20" they are calling for. So we are cozied up inside with the wood stove going, but I promise you it was sunny and I did have the windows and doors open for a brief moment when I took these photos. The good news is we have made it into ... Read More about Spring has Sprung {2018}
Spring Tablescape {2018}
It's no secret that I love creating Tablescapes. So when my friends Alicia from A Burst of Beautiful reached out to me to join her and some other blogging friends to share a Spring Tablescape, I jumped at the chance. I love coordinating plates and bowls and silverware with some fun florals to create a welcoming table. In fact when I'm working on my place settings, it's very much like coordinating outfits. It's fun to switch things up, and pair plates with different bowls, similar to pairing up jeans with a different top. There are so many options. For this spring tablescape I pulled out some of my tried and trues - think your favorite pair of jeans, with some fun new bowls in a pretty blue ... Read More about Spring Tablescape {2018}
Spring Entryway | 2018
Hello Friends! I'm so happy to be joining in with some great blogging friends today sharing our Spring Entryways and Porches. Nothing feels better than shaking off the dust of winter by refreshing our spaces for spring, and getting ready for warmer months ahead. I spent some time cleaning out our mudroom area the other day, getting rid of all our heavier winter items, sweeping up all the sand and salt that gets tracked in, and re-organizing our winter gear. It feels so good to clean up and put all those bulky items away. Today I'm sharing how I refreshed our front entryway for spring, and it was just the thing that was needed, to help spruce up our entryway and celebrate that Spring is on ... Spring Decor Roundup
Spring is on it's way! We've had a few days proving that it's coming. Even though we new englanders know not to get our hopes up too much, because snow can still happen all the way up until May - yes MAY, with March in a few days, our long winter is winding down. Thankfully any snow we do get at this point is gone within a day or two, but even the kids have a bit of spring fever, and have said they are done with playing in the snow, lol. I'm gearing up to share our home decorated for spring, and while I'm not quite finished, I saw a photo the other day from a spring post I did a few years ago, and totally reminisced. It made me think, I should do a round up of some of my favorite posts from ... Read More about Spring Decor Roundup
Master Bathroom Before
Hello Friends! I hope you are doing well! Today I'm sharing all of our "before" photos of our master bathroom with you! Brace yourselves, this is a never before seen room. Ack! And it is a whole lot of blah beige. We are teaming up with our friends over at Wayfair to join in on their One Room Reno Challenge. In case you missed it I shared the design plan for the space HERE. I am so excited to get this project started. Our master bathroom is the LAST room in our house to get my signature touch. Seriously this room has not been touched since we moved in just about 7 years ago! Yikes, but I have a feeling it will be one of our best makeovers yet! ... Read More about Master Bathroom Before
Our Story
I realize it would have been more appropriate to share this post on Valentine's Day, however the flu hit our house last week, and I've been taking care of everyone, so I'm just now getting around to sharing. Thankfully everyone is just about fully recovered, and we are looking forward to a nice low-key weekend to help get ourselves back to 100%. I've been thinking a lot lately about where I want to expand in my blog, and as much as I love sharing my passion for home decor, there are definitely other areas that I'm passionate about too. While home decor will still be my main focus, I also want to share things that are more on a personal level with you. Because after all, it's one thing to ... Read More about Our Story
I Don’t Decorate for Valentine’s Day
There I said it! I don't decorate for Valentine's Day. If you've been around the blog for a little while, you may remember me talking about decorating "Seasonally" and not so much for each holiday. It's true though sometimes I will bring out a holiday specific item, like our Tom the turkey for Thanksgiving, but otherwise I just can't bring myself to doing it. I'm not sure why either, I feel like I put a lot of stress on myself to maintain our home in other areas, and giving myself the "get out of jail free card" and not having to decorate for every single holiday allows me to take a deep breath and be ok knowing I don't have to do it all. ... Add Life to your Space with Faux Greens
I'll be the first to admit, I'm scared of houseplants. There I said it! They've always kind of seemed out of reach for me. Like a conversation that has been off the table. However, one thing I have learned in creating inviting spaces is there needs to be Life! It's amazing how much life that little pop of green can add, it's like you know something is missing, but you can't quite put your finger on it, and then BAM! It hits you the moment you bring some life into a space. I've learned though over the years, that this doesn't always mean it needs to be a "real" plant either. You can accomplish the same look by incorporating some really good "life-like" looking faux plants. ... Read More about Add Life to your Space with Faux Greens
18 Living Rooms that don’t have a White Couch
Hello friends!! Happy Monday, I hope you had a wonderful weekend! There is something so refreshing about the weekend, we love to curl up and just relax and refresh on the weekends. Our weeks are so busy, that we've found it absolutely necessary to take time to allow proper rest on the weekends, and time spent with the family so that we can return to Monday and be ready to tackle the week ahead. Our #1 space to relax in is our living room, and I hinted in a previous post that I am getting ready to switch a few things out. I love our white slip-covered sofa, seriously I think I am a W.S.C.S.F.L. (white - slip - covered - sofa - for - Life!) kind of girl, however, I've been itching to change ...
