I know that we haven't hit Thanksgiving yet, and so for some it may seem a bit early, but in an attempt to offer inspiration before you start decorating for Christmas this year, I wanted to share a bit of Christmas decorating I did in our kitchen over the weekend! Weekend Getaway

I had every intention of sharing this post with you yesterday, and then we got hit with a major rain storm late Sunday night, with winds hitting 50mph knocking out power across most of New England. We were lucky enough to have ours restored only a few hours ago. Thankfully we had no other major damage. Our basement flooded with a few inches of water, but luckily I had just spent Columbus Day cleaning and organizing down there, so everything was up off the floor. And thankfully my husband was very persistent the first year we lived here pushing me to get us a generator. We have relied on that thing more times than I care to admit, one winter for 10 days. Sometimes it can be a bit confusing to figure out what to put on your dining room table that will last all through fall. While faux florals are always a great option, it's nice to have an alternative. I love decorating with pumpkins because they last a long time. I usually stack a few on my dining room table mid-September, and they last all the way up to Thanksgiving. I love it because unlike real flowers, these don't die. I can kind of set it and forget it! So I had a completely different post scheduled for today, but you know what I just had to share what I have been crushing on lately. I love floor plans! Like guys, I really LOVE floor plans. When I was thirteen, my dad let my sisters and I each pick out our own game for the computer. I mentioned it to the hubby in a quick phone call, got the ok, listed it on Facebook and someone came the next day to pick it up!
