Spring Home Tour 2017
Hi Friends!!! I am so excited to be teaming up with HomeGoods and some of my blogging friends to share our home decorated for spring! I was so excited to decorate for spring this year after our Christmas decor stayed up for an extended period of time. The moment the Christmas decor came down I was instantly exchanging it for some fresh touches for spring. Since our winters last so long, I usually take a break during February, ... Farmhouse Style Coffee Tables
Buying furniture can be daunting. I get it, especially when you have more than one room to buy furniture for. Sometimes going to furniture stores is more exhausting than actually deciding on what you actually want for your space. I have one rule when putting furniture selections together for spaces. No sets. I know some might think that's crazy, but I want a pieced together look. One you would get over time collecting heirloom pieces, and refurbishing yard sale treasures. However that's not always easy to do. I've rounded up some of my favorite farmhouse style coffee tables to share with you today, that are a great way to add character and personality into any room. ... Bathroom Reno: Part 2
We are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to our bathroom reno. It felt like every step of the way we hit an obstacle. I guess that is to be expected in any renovation, especially when your house is almost 200 years old. This has probably been the most extensive project we have tackled, being that just about everything we ripped out needed to be re-done behind the walls. The plumbing being the worst of it. Well it may be tied with the uneven walls, but unless we wanted to completely gut the space there was no getting around that one, just making the best of it. ... Read More about Bathroom Reno: Part 2
Farmhouse Style Kitchen Decor
I never really set out to "decorate" our kitchen, but when I was in the process of updating the look, I made a point to only bring in pieces that I loved and complimented the look I was after. Since your kitchen is one of the hardest working rooms in your house, incorporating decor that is not only pretty but functional is key! I'm sharing with you today just how I added farmhouse style decor to our kitchen and the key pieces I chose to accomplish that look. ... Read More about Farmhouse Style Kitchen Decor
Decorating Your Walls
Deciding what to hang on your walls can be a daunting task. I totally get it. I have some go-tos, no fail solutions, but even those only work in certain wall spaces. Today I’m going to highlight different art I have on my walls, and hopefully provide you with some inspiration for different types of art for your walls too! ... Read More about Decorating Your Walls
Changes in the Living Room
I've had an itch to change things up in our living room. Sometimes it's nice just to move things around just to freshen up the look in your space. I did just that, and am loving just the change of scenery in our living room. The only problem is now that I've scratched the itch, I don't want to stop! HA HA. We did a little furniture flip and today I'm going to share with you some changes in the living room. ... Read More about Changes in the Living Room
New Frames Around the TV
I shared a little sneak peak on Instagram last week of the new frames I hung around our tv. We've always had a gallery wall around out tv, but it's a view in our living room that you guys see the least, but we see the most. When you are sitting on our living room you face the tv, so to help disguise it I hung a gallery wall around it a few years ago. I always loved the look, but starting last year I was craving a more simple design. There was just on problem. I couldn't find the frames I wanted to complete this look - ANYWHERE! I wanted all the frames to be large, and have matte's and be real wood, not faux looking wood. ... Read More about New Frames Around the TV
Bathroom Reno: Part 1
We are in full swing over here with our bathroom renovation, so I thought I would share our progress so far. Mind you I say we aren't doing anything major because we didn't take the room down to the studs. The sink and the floor are staying the same. If this was our forever home, believe me I would have been tearing up that tile floor, but it's not. I wanted to do a bathroom renovation that would fix some of the problems, give it a bit of a facelift and be done in a relatively short time frame. Well my thoughts of having it done in a week are out the window. We had to redo all the plumbing for the tub and shower, which the hubby was not a fan of! In order to get the tub to fit we had to ... Weathered Side Table
Many of you have asked how I achieved the look for the new side table in the Mom Cave, and today I'm going to show you just how I got it! I wanted a decent sized table for the space, because honestly I need room for more than just a coffee cup, ha ha! I don't like to feel crowded, and also having a spot I could sit at with my laptop if need be was on the wish list as well. I did lots of searching for the perfect sized table, and at the right price. I love the "weathered wood" look, but sometimes that can get pricey. So I focused my attention on finding on unfinished side table that I could stain myself. I've mixed stains before, layered stains, tried the "diy" stain, the only problem I have ... Spring Touches in the Mom Cave
It feels a little silly to use the word "spring" right now since we have been hit with about 3 ft of snow in the past 4 days, but just about this time every year I start getting the itch for spring. When the sun starts to stay out just a bit longer, and the temps start to rise above 30 degrees. Here in New England we are known for our long winters, so I like to beat the winter blues by adding fresh flowers, and that's just what I did to add some spring touches in the mom cave. ...
