I don’t know about you, but every spring I can’t wait to get outside and start freshening up our outdoor spaces. Our front porch in particular is one of the first areas I tackle since we use this as our main entrance to the house. I can remember a time when I didn’t know what Farmhouse style was. Heck, I don’t even think Farmhouse was an option of a style you could even choose from. Nowadays it seems to be everywhere. Before, if you wanted farmhouse style you could had to DIY your own decor to get the look, because most of its’ signature pieces were only found in certain parts of the country. European grain sack fabric, original tobacco baskets only found in the south, antique dough bowls, dusty galvanized buckets. Now you can head to just about any home decor store and find those items on the shelves.
Vignettes make my heart sing! I’m not quite sure why exactly I’m drawn to them so much, but I have been creating vignettes long before I knew that’s what they were called. I would come home from school and spend hours in my room arranging my knick knacks into little vignettes on my dresser and my nightstand, and find myself so content.
