It’s so easy to point out the things that we don’t love in our home sometimes isn’t it? The outdated tile, the bathroom toilet that needs to be replaced. Or perhaps it’s the lack of storage in some very needed areas throughout our homes, or that beige carpet you are desperate to change over to hardwood someday. I’ll admit I have totally been guilty of walking around this house, that I prayed for mind you, and complained about all the things that it didn’t have. But that only left me frustrated and discontent. Sometimes it’s hard to even know where to begin? So today I’m sharing some tips on how to know where to start with your homes decorating journey.

Holy smokes long title, but there really is just no shorter way of saying it! It is ok if you don’t have your dream house and yes I believe that it makes you a better decorator! I think we all start off with a dream house in mind, at some point in our lives. Heck I still get visions what my dream house would look like. But I bet for most of us we aren’t living in those dream houses we imagined we’d have. And if you are, I am SO happy for you, and I bet there is still a little something you can get out of this post too! So why is it that not living in our dream homes makes us a better decorator?

Hi friends!! Do you ever have an “AH-HA” moment and wonder why you didn’t think of it before? I was laying in bed the other night, catching up on some IG stories, when I was came across another fellow blogger I love, and she was touring a home that was for sale. She shared the outside of the home before they walked in, and it hit me like a ton of bricks! It was this cute white, cape style home, but the foundation was painted dark. I don’t know about you, but every spring I can’t wait to get outside and start freshening up our outdoor spaces. Our front porch in particular is one of the first areas I tackle since we use this as our main entrance to the house.
