I will be the first to admit, awhile back when I thought about decorating with wall paper I immediately thought of the 70’s and 80’s wall paper that we instantly remove when updating a space. However, wallpaper has come a long way, and can also be the easiest way to add your own personal signature to your space. Living in the northeast, with bitter winters, it’s no surprise that summer has us begging to stay outside as long as we can.
I finally decided to take the plunge and update our kitchen island, by painting it a bold color, and it was so easy. So one night around dinner time, because that’s when projects seem to strike, I grabbed my paintbrush, and my favorite chalk paint color and got to work. Or so I thought….

It’s funny for me to look back through past home tours, because no 2 are the same. Even though I love my neutrals and I have the same color palette for most of them, there is a different flair on each one. Even the transition from Spring to Summer, I like my home’s decor to reflect the season changing outside. Summer is bright and full of fresh air, especially after those long New England winters, so I wanted the inside of our home to feel just as bright and cheery as it does outside!
Creating outdoor spaces can seem a bit overwhelming at times, especially when you don’t have a designated space or porch that gives you a spot to create an outdoor space. A few years ago we dug out this corner of our yard, near our barn and created a fire pit area.
