Christmas is almost here! Your tree is up, and the house is starting to feel festive, but perhaps you feel like your dining room table is feeling a little lacking. I love decorating my table for Christmas, but I often get asked the question “What to put on my table?”. I’ve rounded up ten of my favorite Christmas tables I’ve created in the past for inspiration that I think will be helpful year after year. So whether you are hosting a holiday meal, or simply just want to decorate your table for Christmas, I’m sharing 10 different Christmas centerpiece ideas that you can use year after year!
Christmas Village Styled Hutch
Our hutch in our dining room is one of the first spots I like to decorate for Christmas. Similar to the open shelves that were in the kitchen of our previous home, I love decorating our hutch with tiny bottle brush trees, filling bowls with ornaments, and tucking in winter greenery throughout for the holiday season. This year I decided to add in my tiny white ceramic houses to create a Christmas village look. I love this look for the holidays, and can’t wait for you to see it!
Living Room Christmas Tree
Christmas is almost here! I love to decorate our home for the holidays, and one of my favorite sites is the soft glow of white lights from our Christmas tree. When we moved into our home a few years ago, I had been searching and searching for a realistic faux Christmas tree that felt nice and full, since our new living room has a bit more floor space then our previous living room had. This will be our third year with this faux Christmas tree in our living room, and it’s still just as beautiful as the day we got it. So today I’m sharing all the details.
Asymmetrical Christmas Garland
I am so excited to share this years Christmas Mantel with you, because this is the first year I get to decorate our newly renovated fireplace for the holidays. If you are new here, earlier this year we gave our brick fireplace a makeover. It was quite the extensive process, and we thought through every aspect of what this makeover would look like. You can read all about it HERE, but today is the day I have been waiting for ever since we finished our fireplace makeover. I brought my favorite garland out of storage, and I couldn’t wait to hang it back up.
Thanksgiving Tablescape | 2023
Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday. Which would surprise most people who asked me as a young kid and expected to hear me say Christmas. I just loved when we would all come to gather around the table, extended family included. The table leaf would get brought up from the basement, and extra chairs were placed around the table, as we all would squeeze in to fit. I remember as a kid looking at the beautifully place settings, showing each of us we had a seat at the table, and somehow those everyday plates just looked a little fancier with the silverware placed next to it. Everything about the table said “you belong”, “I prepared this seat for you”, and even though I couldn’t put words to it back then, I still remember to this day how it made me feel. I think that’s why I love creating thanksgiving tablescapes so much today!
Christmas Living Room | 2022
Today I’m sharing our living room decorated for Christmas. This year I chose to only bring out my absolute favorite pieces, that also complimented the neutral decor we have in our living room. Little bits of my favorite winter greens tucked in and around our living room make things feel extra festive without requiring a ton of work. I brought out my favorite white ornaments, a few table top trees, a few bottle brush trees, which all set the perfect back drop for our Christmas tree to take centerstage.
Christmas Dining Room | 2022
This year I decorated our dining room for Christmas with nature in mind. I tucked little sprigs of cedar and juniper berries throughout my hutch and buffet. I kept things simple with just a few natural elements tucked in here and there. Come and see ~
Preparing our Hearts & Home for the Holidays
It’s crazy to think we are already a week into December, and my heart is full of anticipation for Christmas. As I prepare our home for the holidays, I’m find myself longing to be more intentional about preparing my heart as well. Instead of feeling anxious about all of the things I “need” to get done, I pause to reflect on what really matters most to our family this holiday season. Instead of giving myself an impossible to-do list of Christmas decorating, shopping, and commitments, I’m carefully contemplating what I allow to fill our schedule over the weeks to come. So before I share the simple touches of holiday decor I’ve added around our home with you, I thought I would first share how I am preparing not only our home, but my heart as well for this upcoming holiday season.
Thanksgiving Tablescape | 2022
It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is already here. I think by now we all know it’s no secret that I love creating tablescapes, but more importantly I love creating a welcoming table that inspires people to want to come and gather around it. To linger long after the last bite has been taken, and dessert has been served. Tablescapes don’t have to be tricky or complicated. Today I’m sharing the one thing that I think will make any table cozy, especially for Thanksgiving.
