Summer for us means spending most of our time outdoors, but that doesn’t stop me from making a few simple seasonal changes to the decor around our home. Summer brings to mind the feeling of keeping things light and breezy. Laid back days, windows open (when there is no humidity), and that warm summer breeze blowing through. I put together this simple summer vignette showcasing some of my favorite things about summer.

This past week I felt so inspired to get out my camera and take a few pictures around our living room, something I haven’t done in a long time. So before the weather begins to turn and we are talking all things fall, here are a few snippets around our living room, and how I’ve styled it for summer.

How to Create a Backyard Gathering
Hello Friends! If you are a familiar face around here, then you know it’s no secret that I love gatherings! I love creating tablescapes to celebrate life’s many special moments. I even wrote a book about HERE. I’m so excited because today I get to share another beautiful book my friend Courtney, from French Country Cottage, wrote called Inspired Gatherings. Courtney has definitely inspired me from the early days of blogging, by encouraging me to pursue my photography and my creative gifts, and I love that we share this common thread of a love for gatherings. I’m thrilled to share her new book with you, and as a way to celebrate I put together a backyard gathering, because right now it’s all about gathering at home.

Hello Friends! I realize it has been a hot minute since I have posted on here. I know this year in general has looked very different for most of us, and I found myself needing to take some time over the course of the summer to really step back and navigate through everything that has been going on. So before I start sharing all sorts of fall inspiration for this year, I wanted to share how are dining room has looked over theses past couple of months. I hope you enjoy seeing our dining room decorated for summer.
Summer Vacation Favorites
Hello Friends!! We just got back from being away on summer vacation! It was so nice to getaway and stay at a house on a lake, just an hour north of us, providing our family the perfect spot to spend some time relaxing on the water! The BEST Skinny Margarita
Hello Friends! I’m going to be honest, in the past I would have been totally skeptic just by the title of todays blog post. I used to think of myself as somewhat of a coinessuar when it came to Margaritas, and I had tried my fair share of “skinny” margaritas in the past, but they just never seemed to taste like a true margarita. Margaritas were my favorite drink to order when we would go out, and my absolute favorite summertime drink. Up until a couple years ago when I started cutting back on my sugar intake, and cleaning up my diet even more, I loved margaritas!! Unfortunately the sour mix used to make margaritas didn’t make the cut, so I just left out having margaritas all together – until now! Today I’m sharing one of the best skinny margaritas I’ve ever had, and trust me when I say I’ve tried quite a few!
