I get a lot of questions about the paint colors in our home, and even though I’ve done a post, and created a sidebar image, it seems to go un-noticed. Which is part of what transpired this whole little “Home Page” revamp. Our new Home Page will now include pictures of our home with the paint swatch and color name attached. So much easier right.
I will be the first to admit, awhile back when I thought about decorating with wall paper I immediately thought of the 70’s and 80’s wall paper that we instantly remove when updating a space. However, wallpaper has come a long way, and can also be the easiest way to add your own personal signature to your space. Whether it’s permanent or removable, there are a lot of options with wall paper now. It’s no longer that dated wall covering we all cringe at the sight of. I know there are still some people who stop me dead in my tracks if I mention adding wall paper, so I wanted to do a round up and show you some beautiful ways wall paper can be added to enhance your decor. I finally decided to take the plunge and update our kitchen island, by painting it a bold color, and it was so easy. So one night around dinner time, because that’s when projects seem to strike, I grabbed my paintbrush, and my favorite chalk paint color and got to work. Or so I thought….

If you told me 5 years ago, that I would tell people that I was a blogger, I would have looked at you like you had 3 heads, and said “What in the world is a blog?” “Is that even a real word?”. LOL. Well It’s safe to say that yes it’s a real word, and yes – I am a Blogger. I am blown away and totally blessed by how fast this industry has grown, and is excepted. Now don’t get too far ahead of me, I still have people that think I just right a diary – ONLINE – for everyone on the internet to read. Well I wouldn’t say everyone reads it, but I have passed the mark of just a few loyal family members reading it. I can honestly say that the people I have met through blogging have been the most encouraging, and supportive, in this crazy network of creative people I now call friends.
It’s funny for me to look back through past home tours, because no 2 are the same. Even though I love my neutrals and I have the same color palette for most of them, there is a different flair on each one. Even the transition from Spring to Summer, I like my home’s decor to reflect the season changing outside. Summer is bright and full of fresh air, especially after those long New England winters, so I wanted the inside of our home to feel just as bright and cheery as it does outside!
Creating outdoor spaces can seem a bit overwhelming at times, especially when you don’t have a designated space or porch that gives you a spot to create an outdoor space. A few years ago we dug out this corner of our yard, near our barn and created a fire pit area. After a few hard winters the area was starting to look pretty drab, and our inexpensive, quick fix, patio furniture had seen better days. See the entire makeover on the blog!
