Getting Ready for the Holidays!

I am so excited for this week! Yes, I love Thanksgiving, and am thrilled for Thursday. This is also the week however that we traditionally get our Christmas Tree and decorate for christmas. I love to decorate for christmas, and every year the kids get more involved, makes it that much more special. I tend to never decorate the same way twice, but I figured I would share some highlights from last year just to get the christmas spirit stirred. Enjoy!

This year I’m totally switching things up with my dough bowl, but last year it was front and center loaded with cinnamon scented pine cones. You could smell it when you walked in the door, a big favorite of the hubby!

I’m thinking of doing almost the same thing for the shelves again this year. Looking back I really like the mix of white, metals, and greenery. I still haven’t quite decided, and I’m always interested to see how they change from year to year, even when I don’t always mean to.

This little Rockwood crate set the theme for the whole room. I started with this, bringing it in because it was red, and started filling it with christmas things. It was probably on of my favorites from last year. To see more from our Living room, click here.

I love the little trees in the metal buckets, so they are on the top of my list again this year. I just have to wait for it to warm up so I can go for a walk and cut some down 🙂 We have been experiencing record lows for November, it is CHILLY out there people! However on the plus side, it puts you more in the mood for decorating for christmas. Have you started decorating for christmas yet, or do you wait until after Thanksgiving?

We let my 4 year old daughter decorate her tree and I put a few winter themed decorations out but as for our tree and more, I am waiting until after Thanksgiving. It’s super cold here and we always chop down our own tree, so I hope it warms up this week! Love how you decorated last year, now I’m off to read those posts.
