Fall Kitchen | 2019

Hello Friends!! I shared yesterday how we are beginning to slowly transition into fall. I think one thing I always have to remind myself when I’m swapping out our seasonal decor, is that it’s not a race. I don’t have to rush to have it completely finished in one day. I can take my time, and work my way around out house, creating little vignettes here, or swapping out throw pillows there. Because when I rush, I don’t always enjoy it – it feels more forced. Instead I allow my spaces to speak to me, and create as I feel inspired. I started transitioning our kitchen into fall, come and take a look ~

Today also kicks off the Seasons of Home | Holiday Series, hosted by Kristen from Ella Claire & Co. So be sure to scroll through to the bottom for even more fall inspiration!

One of the areas I felt really inspired with was this little antique dresser in our kitchen. Now it may still get tweaked as we move into the season, but that’s ok! I had so much fun creating this fun fall vignette in our kitchen, and it totally got me in the mood to do some more fall decorating around our house as well!

I began by switching out the artwork above the dresser. Even though I use this fern wall hanging from Vol. 25 all year long, I loved the muted tones of the print paired with some of my faux pumpkins and dried wheat!

I brought out some of the amber jars I got from Magnolia collection at Target last year (which I saw they are back again this year!), and filled them with some dried wheat I’ve had for years.

I finished that side off with a tiny brass paperweight, also from Target a few years ago, because I love adding in warm tones for fall.

Once I finished with our antique dresser, I felt more inspired to start decorating our open shelves, just next to the dresser. Sometimes I’m not quite ready to start swapping things over for a new season, but I always find that when I’m inspired to start in one area, it usually trickles over to more areas around our home πŸ™‚

It was actually this time last year, that I took these shelves off our kitchen walls and refinished them. You can see the entire project HERE, and a year later, and I’m still loving the outcome!

It doesn’t take much to transition these shelves over for fall. A faux pumpkin here, and faux pumpkin there. A few fall floral picks, and before you know it – they feel ready for fall.

In the middle of my decorating there is always this “sweet moment” that happens. Or at least that’s what I like to call it. I wanted a tiny little faux arrangement of something, so I went digging through my basement, and pulled out a few pieces from my DIY | Fall Wreath last year and came up with this little sweet filler for my creamer.

Sometimes it’s not the big things we do, but the smallest little tweaks in our home that can make us the happiest. For me it was this creamer, and an arrangement made of things I already had – which is also inspiring me create some more with it – so I will be sure to share that too!

These shelves are one of my favorite areas to style seasonally in our kitchen. Especially around the holidays, but I’m always amazed that year after year I have never styled them the same way twice.

You can see how I styled our open shelves for fall last year HERE.

Your style is so lovely! And the shelving is gorgeous!
Are your shelves simply sitting on top of the corbels or are they anchored somehow?
    Beautiful!

Must agree with Michael on that raw wood antique bachelor’s chest dresser – love it!

My fav are those amazing open shelves in kitchen. Well done – has me so in the mood for autumn decorating! Hardest part for me is putting away my summer stuff when it is a bajillion degrees outdoors!
