Thanksgiving Tablescape Tutorial + Sources

10/17/2020 By Bre

Hello friends!! This week sure was fun sharing on the blog. Mostly because it involved one of my favorite topics – tablescapes. I was chatting with a friend this week about this years Thanksgiving Tablescape, and told her I don’t know which holiday I like creating tablescapes for more – Thanksgiving or Christmas? Or if it’s more of just me loving what those holiday tablescapes represent. Gathering around the table with friends and family. Today I’m sharing all the sources for my tablescape, and also a step by step guide for how I put it together. I hope it inspires you as you start thinking about special details you could add to your thanksgiving tablescape this year as well.

Let’s get started ~

To recap, here is the tablescape I created for Thanksgiving this year :

I started with a blank table. We made our current dining room table, and I have to say it’s by far been my favorite one we’ve ever had. I will finally be sharing how we made our current dining table on the blog NEXT WEEK – So stay tuned!

To create the base of my tablescape I used a cream scarf from Target, FOUND HERE. I placed it evenly centered on my table, then using my hand I placed it on the scarf in the center of the table and spun it in a half circle to slightly bunch the scarf.

I placed my Trader Joe’s centerpiece directly in the center of the scarf.

To begin building out from my centerpiece, I placed a few Magnolia leaf branches on either side of my centerpiece creating a S going down the length of the table.

Next I placed two antique wooden risers (found at HERE from PurpleRose Home), on either side of my floral arrangement. This helps me elevate some of my mini white pumpkins off the table creating dimension.

I tucked in a few of my brass candlesticks in varying heights on either end to complete the center of my table.

Then, I created each place setting.

I started with wooden chargers (found HERE), then placed a white dinner plate, with a gray stoneware plate on top. I used oatmeal linen napkins, with woven napkin rings for added texture. I brought in my rose gold flatware – my favorite for FALL! And then finished things off with a place card on each setting.

I wrote out words of gratitude on paper place cards. I shared the tutorial HERE.
