Trader Joe’s Fall Floral Arrangement

10/08/2020 By Bre

Hello Friends!! Today’s post was just the kind of DIY I needed to get into the fall spirit! Creating this fall flower arrangement reminded me of just how much I love to play with flowers. Like a painter with a paint brush, creating flower arrangements feeds my creative soul, and this time it’s all about fall. I team up with 20 other bloggers, who are also all sharing their fall floral arrangements, and I’m extra excited, because I got all of my flowers from Trader Joe’s! That’s right, you read that correctly – Trader Joe’s.

Come and see ~

To start, I grabbed my favorite Good will vessel, and filled the base with floral foam.

I began by arranging my greens first, placing a few stems directly across from each other, and then filling in around the outside rim of the vessel.

Next I placed my dried floral pods.

I wanted this arrangement to have an asymmetrical shape, so I placed a few stems longer on one side, and shorter stems on the opposite.

You can see the progression below.

1. Next I placed my largest flower – a single Banksia stem. 2. I filled in with a few fall foliage branch clippings from my yard. This added in more tan and brown color. 3. Lastly, I tucked in a few white Dahlia’s to complete my neutral fall arrangement.

Other than the few fall foliage branches from my yard, everything you see here came from Trader Joe’s.

I had never seen a Banksia before in my life. What first caught my attention was the frosted sage green leaves around the flower. You can imagine my surprised, when I turned it over and saw this huge, vintage microphone looking flower in the middle of all those leafy greens. I knew right then and there that regardless of how funky this thing was, it was coming home with me.

I’m also showing how I made this floral arrangement in my Instagram stories today, so be sure to head over there to see the full demonstration. Click HERE.
