This idea stemmed from the last 2 interviews I’ve done, they’ve both asked me this very question. And while I shared a short abbreviated answer there, sometimes it’s nice to have a little more details, or insight perhaps, as to how I came up with the name, and why I chose to stick with it. I guess I should start off first by telling you that I hate naming things! Or having to come up with a name. Seriously, I’d rather do the dishes after Thanksgiving dinner than to come up with a catchy, yet descriptive and very permanent name for something! Talk about pressure.
Garden Pots Tablescape | 2019
I love getting outside after a long cold winter, and planting new plants is such a refreshing feeling with the anticipation of warmer days that comes with Spring. While I still may have a ways to go in my gardening skills outside, I wanted to re-create a gardening party tablescape, by incorporating terra cotta pots, filled with blooming bulbs.
DIY | Lime Wash Lamps
If you caught my spring mantle yesterday, than you may have noticed the addition of a new table lamp on my buffet in the dining room. I mentioned that the white lamp we used to have in the dining room, is now in the kitchen on the antique dresser. I used that lamp in our dining room on our buffet quite frequently, so I needed to replace it with something quick. I decided to give some older lamps a little makeover, so today I’m sharing just how I did that.
Spring Mantle | 2019
Hello Friends!! It feels so good to finally be writing posts about spring! Even though we just got about 10 inches of heavy, wet snow on Monday, my heart is soaring knowing that Spring is really coming, especially with day light savings being this weekend! I can’t wait for longer days, and warm sunshine, and all the sounds of nature waking up after a long winter. Today I’m joining in with 28 other bloggers as we share how we decorated our mantles for spring part of the Seasonal Simplicity Spring series.
Farmhouse Style & My favorite things GIVEAWAY!
I can remember a time when I didn’t know what Farmhouse style was. Heck, I don’t even think Farmhouse was an option of a style you could even choose from. Nowadays it seems to be everywhere. Before, if you wanted farmhouse style you could had to DIY your own decor to get the look, because most of its’ signature pieces were only found in certain parts of the country. European grain sack fabric, original tobacco baskets only found in the south, antique dough bowls, dusty galvanized buckets. Now you can head to just about any home decor store and find those items on the shelves.
10 Inspiring Spring Vignettes
Vignettes make my heart sing! I’m not quite sure why exactly I’m drawn to them so much, but I have been creating vignettes long before I knew that’s what they were called. I would come home from school and spend hours in my room arranging my knick knacks into little vignettes on my dresser and my nightstand, and find myself so content. It’s one of the first things I like to do welcome in a new season, so today I’ve rounded up some inspiring spring vignettes to share with you!

I’ve had this hanging basket for a few years now, but decided to give it a little makeover to freshen things up for Spring. Come and take a look!

New Antique Dresser in the Kitchen
Hello Friends!! There is nothing like starting the week off with revealing a new project! I’ve been on “project organize the house” since all the Christmas stuff has long been put away. Really analyzing each area around our home to make sure it functions well for what our needs are as a family. I’ve been organizing our closets, and actually have a fun project planned for a back hall closet, which all got started by the re-evaluation of our current shoe situation in the kitchen.
