With all the refreshing the new year brings us, I can’t help but take a look around my home with a refreshed perspective. Wanting to start off the new year with a freshly cleaned space, and decluttered surfaces, I can’t help but analyze over our homes decor, and reflect on the story it tells. Looking over every piece of furniture and knick knack, I ask myself the question ” Does my home tell our story?”, and the answer is YES!

It’s not that I haven’t been cleaning our house all through the holidays, but for some reason once the holiday decor is put away, I go into cleaning mode. It feels so good to get purge, and get things back in order after the holidays, but once I’ve gotten rid of every last speck of dust, I always get the urge to refresh. Each year I like to start things off by writing down some goals I have for the new year. I’ll be sharing more on how I do this personally, but I also set goals for the blog, and projects I want to do around our home. My husband and I joke that the winter is our “Project Season”, but typically it’s because we are cooped up inside due to impending snow. It’s fun to look back on goals I’ve set in past years. We don’t always get to every house goal we have for that year, but that’s ok, they are just goals, so we can shoot again for them the next year too. So here are my goals for 2019 for around our home.
HAPPY New Year friends!! Honestly, my mind is still just in shock that the holidays have come and gone. I find myself hopeful with what the new year will bring, but also asking myself the question “Where has the year gone?”. I love taking a moment to pause and look back over the past year, as we are about to embark on a new one, because when I find myself asking that question, I’m reminded of just how much was accomplished this past year. I’m ready to jump into the new year after I’ve taken one last look back. 2018 was quite a year, filled with so many wonderful things, so lets take a look at the year in review.
I can’t believe we are only 2 sleeps away from it being Christmas. Our kids can hardly contain their excitement as we get closer and closer to Christmas day.
