I’ve had an itch to change things up in our living room. Sometimes it’s nice just to move things around just to freshen up the look in your space. I did just that, and am loving just the change of scenery in our living room. The only problem is now that I’ve scratched the itch, I don’t want to stop!
New Frames Around the TV
I shared a little sneak peak on Instagram last week of the new frames I hung around our tv. We’ve always had a gallery wall around out tv, but it’s a view in our living room that you guys see the least, but we see the most. When you are sitting on our living room you face the tv, so to help disguise it I hung a gallery wall around it a few years ago. I always loved the look, but starting last year I was craving a more simple design. There was just on problem.
Bathroom Reno: Part 1
We are in full swing over here with our bathroom renovation, so I thought I would share our progress so far. Mind you I say we aren’t doing anything major because we didn’t take the room down to the studs. The sink and the floor are staying the same. I wanted to do a bathroom renovation that would fix some of the problems, give it a bit of a facelift and be done in a relatively short time frame. Well my thoughts of having it done in a week are out the window.
Weathered Side Table
I love the “weathered wood” look, but sometimes that can get pricey. So I focused my attention on finding on unfinished side table that I could stain myself. I’ve mixed stains before, layered stains, tried the “diy” stain, the only problem I have with those methods is consistency. It’s never guaranteed that your finished look will be like the one you did before. Especially understanding that different types of wood soak in stain differently, and even though you are using the same exact method you get a completely different outcome.
Spring Touches in the Mom Cave
Here in New England we are known for our long winters, so I like to beat the winter blues by adding fresh flowers, and that’s just what I did to add some spring touches in the mom cave.
Update on Life
I felt more like having a 3rd child, instead of my first, you know where you are a bit more relaxed, not as nervous as the first time. If the binkie falls on the floor you just pick it up, lick it off, and give it back to your baby, lol! Well I started off that way, and then leading to up to the week before they were supposed to come, it was like a whirlwind hit of realizing a major publication will be in my house, IN MY HOUSE, and every square inch needs to be perfect! HA, yeah I had one of those meltdowns, and I swear it’s just like preparing to have a baby, you always forget about those labor pains, until you are in LABOR, lol!
20 Neutral Arm Chairs Your Room Needs
I get asked a lot where I find furniture, where some of my furniture is from, where there is a good selection of furniture. And while this post in no way is to promote one store, in all of my online shopping experience’s I find a good portion of what I’m looking for at Joss & Main. They are the first place I go to when I’m looking for clients, and so today I thought I would do a little round up of 20 of my favorite neutral arm chairs your room needs. Again I am not paid by Joss & Main to do this post, this opinions are completely my own, but I thought it would be nice to have all my favorite choices put together in one easy to find spot – today’s post! So whether you are in the market or not, I think you be interested to see the top 20 that made my list.
Favorite Project from 2016
I know that sometimes creating resolutions for the new year can become a bit daunting or overwhelming, maybe even a tad discouraging. Wondering if there’s even a point to creating these goals, because let’s face it, sometimes we don’t even get to the second goal on our list. If those thoughts come knocking at my door, I like to take a moment and look back at the things I have accomplished. So today I’m joining my friends from the Farmhouse Decorating Series, as we share our favorite projects from 2016, and our top goal for 2017!
The Mom Cave
I am so excited to share how we transformed this space into a cozy retreat! Ever since I was a little girl I have loved being in my bedroom. It was my space to think, and play, create, and dream big. I always felt refreshed after having some alone time in my room when I was a kid, and still feel that way! In our master we have a tiny room attached ….
