One of the simplest ways to bring that harvest-inspired charm into your home is with a fall basket arrangement. There’s something so special about creating little seasonal moments around the house, and this fall vignette in our dining room has quickly become one of my favorites. As soon as the leaves start to change outside, I can’t resist bringing a little bit of that autumn magic indoors. Instead of feeling the pressure of decorating the entire house for fall, I like to focus on one area at a time. Creating a seasonal vignette on our buffet is one of my favorite areas to start with.
How else do you explain the feeling you get when the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, and many of us feel the natural pull to retreat indoors and create a space that feels warm and inviting. This seasonal shift is often called fall nesting—a practice of refreshing your home with cozy layers, natural accents, and comforting details that mirror autumn’s beauty. The difference for me is that fall nesting goes beyond simply decorating for the season; it’s about embracing a lifestyle of comfort and connection, where your home becomes a welcoming retreat for cooler months ahead.
I am so excited to share with you our Back Deck Reveal! I will be the first to tell you that I completely underestimated the impact that this renovation was going to have on the exterior of our home. Maybe that’s because after living with the previous condition of our back deck for three years, your eyes become used to it, and the sore spots that once stuck out no longer do. Our back deck makeover has completely transformed our home’s curb appeal with a blend of classic design elements and modern comfort. Step inside (or rather, step outside) as we reveal the finished porch and all the details that brought it to life.
Last year, we began giving our back deck a makeover. I shared the Design Plans with you HERE, and Part 1 of the Renovation process HERE. At the end of Part 1, I shared how we would be installing new screens this coming spring, and I’m so excited to tell you that our porch is done! Before I share the full reveal, I wanted to show you the progress of installing the new screens and the details on how we built our new porch railings. I contemplated many different styles for our porch railings, and I am so pleased with how they turned out.
As we say goodbye to summer and begin to embrace the signs of fall, I wanted to share a recap of all the happenings that took place for us this summer.

Two weeks before Christmas I decided to paint our living room. Yes, I know that sounds crazy, but I had been contemplating doing it for a while. I always say that paint colors are a personal choice, and I was craving something a little cozier for our living room. While I will still say that white is my favorite color to paint a room, I was ready for a change after having white walls in our current living room (and at our previous house).
