The hutch in our dining room is one of my favorite places to add a few seasonal touches marking the beginning of a new season. Every Christmas it’s the first spot I decorate adding miniature houses and tiny bottle brush trees. After the holidays are over, I remove anything that feels too “christmas-y”, I wipe everything down and display my favorite serving pieces I’ve collected over the years. Then once spring arrives I’m ready to add some pops of greenery back into my hutch. It always adds a breath of fresh air back into our dining room, so today I’m sharing how I styled our hutch for spring.
Home Projects
This time of year I’m always itching to tackle home projects. Or as we refer to them in our house – winter projects. We have been cooped up inside all winter long, and spring is still a few weeks out, I love to get some projects done around our home that either add character or help refresh our spaces. So today I’m sharing some of my favorite home projects we’ve done in the past that could be tackled in a weekend, in case you are itching to do a home project as well!
Goals for 2024
At the start of the year I take some time to sit down and write out some goals that I have for the new year. This list includes personal goals that I have for myself, whether it’s incorporating something new into my routine, or an area in my life I want to work in like – be less distracted by social media and embrace more of what feels meaningful in my life. Learning a new skill like – make sourdough bread (I’ve been working on this one!), and of course projects for our house. Rather than making different lists for each category or area in my life, this ends up turning into more of a brain dump kind of session, but one that feels completely satisfying because it gets all of my goals out of my head and onto paper. I’ve already shared our recap from 2023, which you can read HERE if you missed it. Today I’m sharing my goals for 2024.
2023 Recap
I hope your new year has been off to a great start. Whether you are fully submerged in chasing after those goals that you set at the beginning of the new year, or find yourself slowly trying to establish new habits, I hope that you able to savor some of the stillness that comes with the fresh start of a new year. Before I share my Goals post for this year, and what I’ve been working on, I wanted to share a little recap on 2023 and some encouragement for you!

Christmas is almost here! Your tree is up, and the house is starting to feel festive, but perhaps you feel like your dining room table is feeling a little lacking. I love decorating my table for Christmas, but I often get asked the question “What to put on my table?”. I’ve rounded up ten of my favorite Christmas tables I’ve created in the past for inspiration that I think will be helpful year after year. So whether you are hosting a holiday meal, or simply just want to decorate your table for Christmas, I’m sharing 10 different Christmas centerpiece ideas that you can use year after year!
Christmas Village Styled Hutch
Our hutch in our dining room is one of the first spots I like to decorate for Christmas. Similar to the open shelves that were in the kitchen of our previous home, I love decorating our hutch with tiny bottle brush trees, filling bowls with ornaments, and tucking in winter greenery throughout for the holiday season. This year I decided to add in my tiny white ceramic houses to create a Christmas village look. I love this look for the holidays, and can’t wait for you to see it!
Living Room Christmas Tree
Christmas is almost here! I love to decorate our home for the holidays, and one of my favorite sites is the soft glow of white lights from our Christmas tree. When we moved into our home a few years ago, I had been searching and searching for a realistic faux Christmas tree that felt nice and full, since our new living room has a bit more floor space then our previous living room had. This will be our third year with this faux Christmas tree in our living room, and it’s still just as beautiful as the day we got it. So today I’m sharing all the details.
Asymmetrical Christmas Garland
I am so excited to share this years Christmas Mantel with you, because this is the first year I get to decorate our newly renovated fireplace for the holidays. If you are new here, earlier this year we gave our brick fireplace a makeover. It was quite the extensive process, and we thought through every aspect of what this makeover would look like. You can read all about it HERE, but today is the day I have been waiting for ever since we finished our fireplace makeover. I brought my favorite garland out of storage, and I couldn’t wait to hang it back up.
Winter Hanging Basket
Today I’m sharing an easy DIY that you can decorate with all winter long. This winter hanging basket is easy to make, requires minimal foliage, and the best part is you can leave it up after Christmas. I love making floral arrangements and wreaths, but sometimes it’s fun to switch things up. I’m teaming up with thirteen blogging friends today who are all sharing different winter wreaths you can make!
