I mentioned in yesterdays post how one of the ways I love to add layers into my rooms is by layering area rugs. Now I get that this isn't always doable at first when you are decorating, because affording one new area rug can be pricey on it's own. But when looking for areas to add more layers to your spaces this is a great way to achieve that layered look we all desire, without over complicating things. Today I'm sharing some of my favorite layered area rug looks. ... Read More about Layering Area Rugs

Goals for 2019
Each year I like to start things off by writing down some goals I have for the new year. I'll be sharing more on how I do this personally, but I also set goals for the blog, and projects I want to do around our home. My husband and I joke that the winter is our "Project Season", but typically it's because we are cooped up inside due to impending snow. It's fun to look back on goals I've set in past years. We don't always get to every house goal we have for that year, but that's ok, they are just goals, so we can shoot again for them the next year too. So here are my goals for 2019 for around our home. 1. My Office - Off of our dining room, is a tiny odd shaped room. Behind the view you ... Read More about Goals for 2019

Hello Friends! It sure does feel like summer is in full swing once we start using our outdoor patio! Even though we are in the last days of school, we've been dining alfresco, roasting marshmallows around the fire, and soaking in every moment of these longer days. It's like one big giant exhale with the school year ending, a bit of a slow down from routine and rushing out the door in the morning, and it feels so good! ... Farmhouse Style Wooden Trunk Coffee Table Ideas
We are winding things down in our last 2 weeks of summer. Fall soccer for my son has already begun, and you can smell autumn in the air as it approaches. I was window shopping online the other day, actually looking for some fall decor inspiration, and during my searching I stumbled upon a beautiful wooden trunk and it reminded me of the wooden trunk we have in our living room as a coffee table. And I thought to myself if I didn't have my current trunk, I would get this one. I know many of you have asked where ours is from, and I hate not having a valid source. So today I'm sharing a variety of farmhouse style wooden trunk coffee table ideas. ... Read More about Farmhouse Style Wooden Trunk Coffee Table Ideas

2016 House Goals
So I've caught a bug. Not a stomach bug or any type of sick bug, so don't worry. It's funny how refreshing one space can be contagious, and now I have caught the bug of freshening up more of our spaces. Today I'm sharing some house goals I have for 2016. We have a running joke around here, between my husband and I, that I always have a project! He may be right, but just as we approach our 5 year mark of being in this home, I was starting to think there really wasn't anymore left to do, or was there. I did a re-cap last year when we hit the 4 year mark and it's full of all sorts of fun before and after photos like these: ... Read More about 2016 House Goals
