I know I know, there are a lot of bad 4 letter words out there. It’s hard to believe there is one that is the nastiest of all. But to a creative soul, a dreamer, the one stepping out on the water with extreme faith and courage, there is one 4 letter word that can leave us paralyzed right where we are. It begins with the letter “F”, and no I’m not talking about the one that rhymes with “truck”. FEAR.
Summer Tour of Homes 2017
With summer on the brain, I’m sharing a few tweaks I did to our home to get ready for the warm months ahead. Of course one of my most favorite ways to decorate is with fresh flowers and greens. Let no branch be left behind, ha ha. You can always find me outside in our yard, or perhaps my neighbors (he he) clipping away and bringing in whatever I find to be placed in a jug, or a jar somewhere throughout our home. I’m joining a few of my blogging friends who are also sharing glimpse’s of their homes for summer as well.
A Mother’s Day Tablescape
Whether your table is big or small, or your circle is intimate or expanding, I think the important thing is that we make time for those around us, and celebrate one another! I hope you feel inspired by this beautiful spring tablescape that any special women in your life would cert
Doing What You Love
It’s so important as a creative person to take time to do what you love. That might seem like a no-brainer at first, but life’s demands have a way of creeping in and stealing us away from the things we love to do the most. Before we know it we are running at a break-neck pace with little or no time to refresh ourselves. The downside to this is we end up running out of creative juices. I’m not talking about burn-out, because that is an entirely different beast in itself, although if we aren’t careful we might end up there too! I’m talking about when the creative pool runs dry. We are left feeling unmotivated and uninspired to create or put our hands into any project. I found myself feeling this way as the new year began.
Spring Porch Refresh
The rain has finally stopped. Although the extended forecast says we are in for more, but for now it stopped long enough for me to refresh our porch for spring. Once warmer temps start to hit here in New England, it’s like everything comes to a screeching halt, and we turn our attention to all things outdoors. I think our long winters really help us appreciate the warmer months, and being outside. However you can’t fully enjoy it unless you have a space to sit down and relax, and enjoy it in.
Bathroom Makeover Reveal
Friends, today is the day! I’m finally sharing our bathroom makeover reveal! I wanted to keep the overall feel of the design of the bathroom vintage yet classic. It was important to me to choose elements that not only complimented our style, but complimented our house too. Since we live in an old farmhouse, even though we were adding all brand new pieces I wanted them to feel like they matched the era of the house, and would feel like they always belonged.
Spring Master Bedroom
Like any room in our house, when spring comes along I like to switch out winter blankets for summer blankets. There’s nothing like freshening up a space during spring time months with lighter blankets and pillows. Since it’s national sleep week I wanted to show you how I lightened things up in our master bedroom.
Favorite Spring Home Decor
Spring is in the air! Or so I can finally say that because our temperatures finally reflect it! After much snow and cold temps, this week things are finally looking like they are warming up. I’m anxious for our trees to start budding again and for some pops of green, and I never thought I would be saying this, but I’m anxious to be able to start working in our yard again. I love sharing with you my favorite home decor choices, so today I’ve rounded up my favorite spring home decor picks for this year! Even though I’ve already decorated our home spring, here are a few things that have caught my eye that I absolutely love!
A Season of Change
I’ve been contemplating something for quite a while. Well stewing over it more or less. This week I finally said the words out loud, and there is something about verbalizing a thought out loud that makes your decision that much clearer. For me it brought confirmation, because instead of hesitation or adding more questions, it brought peace. And that was all the reassurance I needed. Let me rewind.
