So the comedy in sharing this recipe with you all today is that I have actually never like stuffing before in my life – until NOW! It’s true I tell you, up until earlier this year when I made this recipe for the first time, I have never before in my life liked stuffing. When I was in high school, I thought maybe my taste buds had matured enough, that all those thanksgivings as a kid, trying bites of stuffing that I did not like would finally have trained my taste buds to like it – nope! I should put this disclaimer out there, that I am not a picky eater. Yet here I was well into my 30’s still not liking stuffing. In fact if you asked me what was my least favorite food, stuffing would have been my answer – until now!
Thanksgiving Tablescape Tutorial + Sources
Hello friends!! This week sure was fun sharing on the blog. Mostly because it involved one of my favorite topics – tablescapes. I was chatting with a friend this week about this years Thanksgiving Tablescape, and told her I don’t know which holiday I like creating tablescapes for more – Thanksgiving or Christmas? Or if it’s more of just me loving what those holiday tablescapes represent. Gathering around the table with friends and family. Today I’m sharing all the sources for my tablescape, and also a step by step guide for how I put it together. I hope it inspires you as you start thinking about special details you could add to your thanksgiving tablescape this year as well.
Easy Thanksgiving Place Card
Hello friends!! Thank you so much for all of your kind words regarding this years Thanksgiving table. I was chatting with a friend the other day, and I told her it’s a hard toss up to decide which holiday I like creating tablescapes for more, Thanksgiving or Christmas! I love the seasonal elements that both holidays bring forth, but what I love even more is the excuse the holiday gives me to create a fancy table for my family. Today I’m sharing how I made the place cards I used on this years Thanksgiving table. It was quite simple, but there’s nothing quite like adding the personal touch of a place card to make others feel welcome.
Thanksgiving Tablescape | 2020
As I was preparing for this years Thanksgiving Tablescape, I had an image pop up in my memories of the very first thanksgiving tablescape I created over 7 years ago! It was crazy to look back and see how this love of creating a warm gathering place has always been apart of me. The desire to see family and close friends gathered around the table sharing a meal and building memories. I know that this year Thanksgiving might look a little different than it has in years past, but I hope that at the heart of your table this year you are able to soak in the moments with those gathered around it. Today I have some special friends joining me, as we share our Thanksgiving tables for 2020.
Planting Seeds of Hope
I did something this week, that I’ve never done before. Now I realize to my young 36 year old self that isn’t highly unlikely, but you see I’m a creature of habit. A risk taker I am not. I like to stay inside my perfectly drawn lines I’ve made for my life, and I stick to them. My days are routine, for the most part. I know what I expect. Sure I may get adventurous every now and then, but if I’m really being honest with myself, I can’t remember the last time I did something last minute or spontaneous. No I like consistency. I like to know what to expect and plan for what’s coming. All good qualities I assure you, but my friends quickly find out, I’m not the person to call for a last minute invite.
Trader Joe’s Fall Floral Arrangement
Hello Friends!! Today’s post was just the kind of DIY I needed to get into the fall spirit! Creating this fall flower arrangement reminded me of just how much I love to play with flowers. Like a painter with a paint brush, creating flower arrangements feeds my creative soul, and this time it’s all about fall. I team up with 20 other bloggers, who are also all sharing their fall floral arrangements, and I’m extra excited, because I got all of my flowers from Trader Joe’s! That’s right, you read that correctly – Trader Joe’s.

How to Create a Backyard Gathering
Hello Friends! If you are a familiar face around here, then you know it’s no secret that I love gatherings! I love creating tablescapes to celebrate life’s many special moments. I even wrote a book about HERE. I’m so excited because today I get to share another beautiful book my friend Courtney, from French Country Cottage, wrote called Inspired Gatherings. Courtney has definitely inspired me from the early days of blogging, by encouraging me to pursue my photography and my creative gifts, and I love that we share this common thread of a love for gatherings. I’m thrilled to share her new book with you, and as a way to celebrate I put together a backyard gathering, because right now it’s all about gathering at home.
What I did on the First day of School
Friends, it’s official – our kids are finally back at school and have had their first day. There were a lot of emotions leading up to this day, the uncertainties of how the classroom environment will be. All the “what-ifs” – will they like going back? Will it be weird? How is it going to be wearing a mask? And will they be able to keep up with all the new protocols or should they just stay home? So many emotions, and so my questions I have been in deep thought and spending time in prayer over these past few months leading up to their first day of school. I shared before that we live in a small, rural town, and our kids public school is open to in person teaching – which I know is not the case for many. While I did have my list of concerns and mixed feelings about the whole decision of whether to send them back or not, ultimately I have peace that we made the right decision for our family, and that is key. You should never base your decisions off of what you see everyone else doing for your family, and always spend time praying about it together as a family. With all that being said, their first day back was a success! A great success in fact, and so today I’m just sharing what I did, while my kids where having their first day back to school.
