I know I don't usually share outfits or fashion here on the blog. One of my very first posts was about about fashion, and I think that was last. I don't consider myself a fashionista, but I do like putting outfits together that are go along with my style, and definitely have a soft spot for accessories. I think anyone who has met me would agree, I don't dress for trendy, but I do like to be comfortably in style. So I put together a little mood board of one of my favorite fall outfits. August is usually about the time I start craving cooler weather so I can bust out my vest and scarves and boots! ... Read More about My Top Fall Outfit Picks

When Comparison Is all Around
It's really hard not to compare these days. With social media slamming everyone else success's in our faces, we can easily fall into the trap of comparison without even realizing it. We go from cheering someone on, to slowly starting a downward spin cycle of feelings that tell us we're "not good enough" or success will never happen for our own personsal goals. So how do we celebrate with someone, or even scroll through social media, without letting those feelings start to consume us. I think what makes it tricky, is that some days we can have a good grip on it, but on others, we can fall prey to its trap. It's not like we don't want to be happy for other people, or share in the joy of their ... Read More about When Comparison Is all Around
Kitchen Ceiling Wallpaper REVEALED
If you caught my tutorial for installing wallpaper on our kitchen ceiling, than you know adding bead board is something I have wanted to do for quite a while. So when Graham & Brown reached out about using some of their products, I was thrilled to finally give this project a try. You can catch all the details in the "tutorial" post as to why I decided to go with wallpaper vs. real or faux bead board. While I don't think installing wallpaper to a ceiling is for the faint at heart. Once I figured out the right formula of soaking the wall paper, allowing the paste to activate, and cutting the right lengths, it went up pretty quickly! Are you ready to see the results?! ... Easy Fruit Pizza
We have been away on vacation and enjoying our time at the beach. We will resume with the farmhouse Friday tours next week, but for now enjoy this easy summer dessert that is a house favorite. I think anytime I see the word "easy" in front of a recipe, I always go for that one first. I would consider myself a moderately experienced cook/baker. I'm not too afraid of tackling a new recipe or something unfamiliar. Most importantly I like trying new things. However let's just be real here, mom to mom, when I'm cooking in the kitchen, there really isn't a whole lot of time to get my Julia Child on, when it says easy, and I have maybe 20 minutes, you've got my attention. ... How to Install Wallpaper on your Ceiling
I have been wanting to add bead board to the ceiling in our kitchen since, OH about FOREVER! There are plenty of options out there for installing bead board, and for the most part non are super pricey. They more differ in difficulty and the tools needed to install. I've always loved the look, and even though the hubby was on board, his plate has been so full I couldn't see him having time any time in the near future to tackle this project. One of the options I always kept in mind was using bead board wallpaper, and so that was exactly the route I decided to go. The ceiling in our kitchen was smooth, so using wallpaper was a perfect solution. ... Read More about How to Install Wallpaper on your Ceiling

Farmhouse Toolbox Vignette
It's no secret I love incorporating vintage pieces into my decor. I love the rustic patina, and loads of texture they add to any space. It's a perfect balance to all the white I have in our home, and keeps things from feeling too stark. Sometimes I know we can come across vintage items, but maybe we aren't quite sure what to do with them, or how to decorate them. Today I'm sharing with you how I created a vignette in our dining room using a vintage toolbox I picked up last summer at a local barn sale. ... Read More about Farmhouse Toolbox Vignette

Favorite Home Decor Finds at Target
I know I'm not the only one who has gone in to a Target store for a few items, and magically some new throw pillows, and a the latest trinket end up in my cart. Yep - GUILTY! So I happened to make one of those infamous Target runs on Monday, and tried so very, very hard to only get the items on my list. Of course I had a million "squirrel" moments, when some of their home decor items tried to entice me, tried to lure me in and derail my kart. But I held on tight, and stayed on course, lol.
