A new space for the new year! I am so excited to share how we transformed this space into a cozy retreat! Ever since I was a little girl I have loved being in my bedroom. It was my space to think, and play, create, and dream big. I always felt refreshed after having some alone time in my room when I was a kid, and still feel that way! In our master we have a tiny room attached that you walk through to get to the master bathroom. It's where you've seen my home office set up before, and I always envisioned creating a cozy retreat in that space. A mom cave if you will, and I'm so excited to share it with you today! ... New Thoughts for the New Year
Happy NEW YEAR friends!! I always feel like there is so much excitement that comes with a new year. Anticipation for what the new year holds, and the possibilities of a fresh start. I have spent the last week purging and cleaning. Going through areas in our house that have collected piles over the past year, who am I kidding the past few years. Some areas get re-visited more than others, and some areas stay neglected for a little while. I feel like I've been pretty productive though, going through clothes I haven't worn in the past year. Did you know I got rid of about 20 belts?! I mean who really wears that many? I weeded it down to the 3 I wear the most, and the rest went in the bag to ... My favorite thing to buy for the new year!
Have you recovered from Christmas yet? As I speak we are curled up inside watching big white fluffy snowflakes fall, drinking hot chocolate by our wood stove. It's quite possibly one of my most favorite ways to soak in the winter season, instead of dreading the months of cold weather that lie ahead. As 2016 winds down, I thought I would share with you my favorite thing to buy as we get ready to start another new year! We all go through New Years resolutions, I assure you, this has nothing to do with that! HA! But I do have one simple household item that I absolutely get giddy with excitement to get my hands on! I shared earlier this week on Instagram, that we are keeping our Christmas decor ... Read More about My favorite thing to buy for the new year!

Watercolor Advent Calendar {2016}
I shared awhile back on Instagram that I was going to do something completely different for my Advent calendar this year. Not because I didn't love our wood plank advent calendar from years past, but because I was ready for something a little different. So I took a leap of faith and tried something new, something I had never done before, and created a new watercolor advent calendar. ... Read More about Watercolor Advent Calendar {2016}

Christmas Entryway with Balsam Hill
I never used to care that much about our entryway before. I will admit, in our early days of decorating our home, I would only focus on the main area we would spend our time in, the living room. And while that's totally fine for us who spend everyday in our home, I realized I left my guests feeling a bit uninvited until they finally made it into our living room. Our very first apartment was a typical new englander, and we had the second floor, however to enter our house you would come in on the main floor into an entryway, and then climb a giant flight of stairs to a tiny hallway and then enter into our living room. That gave our guests about 25 steps of cold, undecorated, not-cared-about ... Read More about Christmas Entryway with Balsam Hill

Pecan Pie Bars | Holiday Recipe
I'm so excited to be back today with another installment of Farmhouse Holiday Decor Series. We have one more post in the series after this one, and I'm truly going to be sad to see this Farmhouse style holiday decor series come to an end. Well at least until next year that is. Today we are sharing our holiday recipes and I chose a family favorite dessert. I have to admit, when I was a kids I never understood what the big deal was about pecan pie. I liked pecans, but I just remember thinking as a kid that a pie that tastes like nuts should not be considered a dessert. Thankfully I've come to my senses as an adult, and have grown to love pecan pie, but even more so pecan pie bars. ... Read More about Pecan Pie Bars | Holiday Recipe
Layered Rugs in the Living Room
It's no secret I love to layer things. Every corner in our house has the possibility to create a layered look. I think it makes the space feel cozier, more inviting. It really welcomes you in. I love the look of layered rugs, even though some (mostly men) feel it to be unnecessary, I beg to differ. The other fun aspect to layering rugs, is that because the top one is essentially smaller, equalling less expensive, you have the option to switch it up more frequently. ... Chunky Knit Throw Blanket
Hi Friends!! Thank you so so much for all your kind words about our Christmas tour yesterday!!! They truly mean the world to me. I've been stuck serving jury duty this week, so I haven't had a chance to reply to each one, but have truly loved reading each and every one of them! Many of you commented on the lovely blue touches I carried throughout our decor, and I have to say I was a little nervous at first, especially trying to find just the right shade. But I'm so glad I stuck with it, and love the added pop of color it brings. I'll be sharing details about our christmas decor over the next couple weeks, but I wanted to share with you about this amazing new chunky knit throw blanket you ...
