It's no secret that I love farmhouse decor. Well farmhouse anything really. It's my favorite style because of it's relaxed vibe and comfortable appeal. It's no fuss, casual feel draws you in and makes you want to sit and stay awhile. I shared a little bit at Haven about my thoughts and design plan that went into how we created our dining room, which I can't wait to share more of Haven with you all soon, but today I wanted to share a fun way you can shop our look! I've teamed up with Painted Fox to join their summer sale series, currently going on, and picked some of my favorite farmhouse decor items that I love to decorate with. I thought it would be fun to show you how I have some of these ... Read More about How to Create a Farmhouse Dining Room

Antique Breadboards in the Kitchen
Hi Friends and Happy Friday!!! The weekend is here, and I have some exciting news I can't wait to share with all of you! First, I wanted to show you some antique breadboards I got for our plate rack wall in the kitchen! I shared a quick peak of them on Instagram a few weeks ago, but wanted to give them more of a debut! Since we built our plate rack wall with these specifically in mind. Now 2 years later they are finally in place, and I couldn't be more smitten with them! ... New Antique Toolbox
Hello Friends! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! We had a great time with family, enjoying the long weekend being lazy, and eating far too much food! I just wanted to pop in today and show you a new antique tool caddy I picked up back in the beginning of the season. We have a sweet little barn shop down the road from us, that opens just about every other weekend in the summer. The cutest old couple that runs it, and they fill it to the brim from their lifetime hobby of collecting! They are my go to place when I have a certain antique piece in mind. My crates that hold our shoes in the kitchen, I found there. It's a sweet little spot and it's just around the corner. I spotted ... Read More about New Antique Toolbox

Staying Organized with Day Designer
I will admit it. I'm a bit old school when it comes to organization, and planning things. I love writing things down, and being able to fill in my calendar not on a electronic device. I've always used a planner in the past. It helps me feel a bit less stressed knowing everything is written out and scheduled. When I started my business a few years ago, I had a need for another planner. A personal one, that I would keep track of our schedules and bills, and a business one to keep track of client appointments and current projects we were working on. However keeping up with two planners wasn't always easy or done for that matter, because who has time to keep up with one, never mind two! That ... Read More about Staying Organized with Day Designer
Creating a Meaningful Home
Happy Monday Friends!! I am so excited, because today I am talking with Jenna Burger in her amazing series : Creating a Meaningful Home. This is the 3rd year, and she kicked things off last monday with Mandi @ Vintage Revivals. I love this series, and what it means to create a meaningful home. It goes so much deeper than just filling a space. "Long before I blogged, or even knew about blogs, creating a meaningful home was always on the forefront of my mind. As a child I dreamed about being an interior decorator, but it wasn't until I had my very own place, as a young, newly married bride, that I was able to really put into practice putting thought behind the items I decorated with. It ... Read More about Creating a Meaningful Home
Why not Having your Dream House helps you Decorate Better
Holy smokes long title, but there really is just no shorter way of saying it! Yes I believe that not having your dream house makes you a better decorator, and no I'm not crazy! I think we all start off with a dream house in mind, at some point in our lives. Heck I still get visions of a dream house, but I bet for most of us we aren't living in those dream houses we imagined we'd have. And if you are, I am SO happy for you, and I bet there is still a little something you can get out of this post too! So why is it that not living in our dream homes makes us a better decorator. Well for one, if we lived in those dream homes, with everything perfectly laid out like we have envisioned, we ... Read More about Why not Having your Dream House helps you Decorate Better
How to Grow your Instagram
This post has been on my mind for a while. Somehow I just never got around to sharing my thoughts and tips if you will on Instagram, and growing your account. I think IG has taken everyone by storm, and after personally using it for the past 3 years, I can't see it going anywhere anytime soon. There are always rumors "if it eventually fade out blogging?" or blogs all together for that matter. While I can see the argument I don't think that will ever happen. Before I continue though, let's go into a brief description of what Instagram is, because believe me there are those out there who are not on this extremely popular app, and lets face it, some just don't get it. Instagram in it's formal ... Read More about How to Grow your Instagram
Little Girl Room Inspiration
The time has come to finally decorate a little girls room. I say finally because when our daughter was born (our 2nd), I never got to decorate a nursery for a little girl. I did for our son (our first child), but when baby girl came, we had other people temporarily living with us, so for the first few years our kids shared a room. And honestly they loved it. I showed you their shared space here. ... Read More about Little Girl Room Inspiration
