Last week I decided to start tackling another room in our house. This time our primary bathroom. While we might not be tackling everything on my to-do list, I am ready to make some simple updates in our primary bathroom. So today I’m sharing some of my design plans, along with my thought process on how I decide on what to tackle first. Even if you don’t have a primary bathroom remodel in the near future I hope some of these ideas will give you fresh inspiration for your home as well.

Currently Loving vol. 7
Every once in awhile I share this kind of post. A random mash up of all the things I’m loving or crushing on at the moment. While they seem to always have the same flow and feel to them, the things I share in them are completely at random. These posts always end up being my favorite type of posts to share, because I imagine us sitting down, with a nice hot beverage in hand, as we catch up on life and other things 🙂 With the seasonal change right upon us, it felt fitting to share some of things I’m loving right now as we enter into spring!
Cozy Fireplace Seating Area
Today I’m sharing the progress we’ve made around our fireplace. When we first moved into this house I just knew I wanted to create a cozy seating area in front of our fireplace. I imagined myself sitting there, listening to the crackle of the fire while enjoying a quiet moment with a hot cup of coffee. The space around our fireplace is not large enough to be a room all on its own, but I approached decorating this space with the mind set of how I would want a keeping room to feel. I had a few challenges in making sure the furniture I brought in not only fit the space well, but could hold up to the everyday traffic. And I think you will see I found the perfect chairs to create this cozy fireplace seating area.
How I Style my Hutch for Spring
It may not feel quite like spring outside this week here in New England, but the calendar tells me it’s coming. March can always feel like a weird month, almost stuck in this in-between sort of state. With the tease of a couple of warm days, and day-light savings, the promise of spring is on the horizon. But with the bitter cold days of winter still lingering sometimes you aren’t sure what season you are in. I’ve been doing a little refreshing around our home, with spring on my mind, so today I’m sharing how I styled my hutch for spring!
Finding Contentment with our Homes
Do you struggle with finding contentment in your home? Perhaps you are in a season of life where your living room is covered with toddler toys, or the room makeovers you’ve been dreaming to accomplish haven’t found room yet in the budget to be completed? I would be lying if I told you that I’ve never struggled with this feeling – I completely have. Friend, I am no stranger to these feelings, I only know how real they can be and how loud they can get inside our heads. I have definitely struggled with these feelings more than once over the past 10 years – almost 20 if I’m thinking back to my first apartment, and over the past almost two decades, I’ve learned a few ways to fight back the feelings of discontentment and to fall in love with the four walls that surround me once again.Â
New Home Office
Today I am sharing with you a brand new space from our (new to us) home. One that you have not seen before, and didn’t even make the cut in the New Home Tour (shared HERE), or the New Home Tour video (shown HERE). This room is located in the front of our house, just off of the kitchen, and when we first moved in it served as a space to hold moving boxes we were still going through. It was great to be able to shove some boxes off to the side (out of sight) when we first moved in and were unpacking, which is why this room never made the cut. But I’m happy to say we now have this room up and functioning as a home office, and I can’t wait for to see the transformation!
Embracing Winter
For years, I always felt like the winter season should be summed up to just the month of December, where the holidays are the main focus, and then I would rush off to “wishing” away the next 3 months in hopes of an early spring. But I found that in doing so, I was robbing myself of the gift that the winter season can be. Yes I realize I just said that the winter season can be a gift, and before you think I’m crazy allow me to explain. Winter isn’t just meant to be summed up as the time when Christmas comes, and then we hurry off to the next season. There are tiny gifts tucked away in what can seem like an endless cold and dark season. Ones that I’ve begun to unpack for myself. So today, I’m sharing my thoughts on this underrated season, and how we can Embrace Winter together.
How to Create a Gallery Wall
When it comes to hanging things on the walls in our home there is nothing I love more than creating gallery walls. I sometimes wonder if it speaks to my teenage years where I would cover the walls in my room with giant collages of cut out pictures from magazines. There are many different ways you can create a gallery wall, and styles depending on the frames you choose and how you group them. I recently added a new gallery wall in our living room, so today I’m going to share my process with you in how I go about choosing art to create a gallery wall.
