This year I really wanted to warm things up a bit for fall. Most of my year round decor is white, which is why I like to add some warm colors in the colder months. I mixed real pumpkins, faux pumpkins, and freshly clipped branches from our yard. Simple, uncomplicated style, which reflects how I feel this fall, and the need to quiet life, and enjoy slower days. I think our summers are so busy, because we only get to enjoy nice weather for a few short months, but every fall I'm ready to slow down, wrap myself in a blanket, and just sit with a hot cup of coffee. Anyone else feel this way?Last year I attempted to fill my dough bowl with pumpkins and gourds. Well I found out fast just ... Read More about Our Dining Room {Fall 2013}

Kids Room Inspiration
I spent most of my free time in the summer working on transforming the kids room from a nursery to more of a kids space. I realize I don't think I've ever really shared a full post on what their room fully looked like as a nursery, however I think you will get to see most of it with the before pictures I have taken. Today I wanted to share some inspiration photos with you that were really my jumping off point. I love the dark, bold bed frames in the photos below. The contrast with the neutral wall,and the symmetry with the arrangement of furniture. Even though they share a space, I wanted it to remain mostly neutral, with a few pieces that were gender specific on ... Read More about Kids Room Inspiration
Getting Back into {Blogging}
Finally, the time has come to get back into blogging. I have thoroughly enjoyed taking some time off, and can't wait to share with you what we have been up too. I ended up waiting until after my sisters wedding (this past sunday) to come back, because there was just so much going on. I didn't want to come back for a week or so and then disappear for another month. So I figured it would be best to let all the dust settle, but I couldn't wait to come back! With fall in full swing, it's been nice to start to slow down and cozy up, along with changing things out seasonally in the house. I hope you have all had a wonderful summer, and are enjoying fall, and I can't wait to catch up with you! I ... Read More about Getting Back into {Blogging}
{Taking Some Time Off}
For the last couple weeks I have been toying with the idea of taking a short break from the blog.Denying myself that it is a necessary step during this season in life has only prolonged this post. However, if you have noticed the lack of posts over the past month, you are not alone, the proof is in the pudding! I need a break. I went back and forth for the past couple weeks, because I love sharing all of my latest design obsessions with you, and connecting with all of you! And while projects still take place, and working with clients, I can't help but feel spread a little too thin these days. And unfortunately my family is the one that will suffer, no matter how well I can disguise it, even ... Read More about {Taking Some Time Off}

DIY Chalkboard Paint
As some of you might know, we have been plugging away at what seems like the never ending kitchen project. And we haven't even done any major construction projects, like tearing the ceiling down, or swapping out the lights above the sink and island, or changing the countertops. We have, however, been plugging away at phase 1 things, like new paint, plate rack wall, new backsplash, new shelves, and making a focal wall out of DIY chalkboard paint! Which is what I'm going to share with you today. And hopefully as we wrap up the shelves with new corbels this week, I can show you where we are at so far in the rest of the kitchen. ...
